Roberts House--1840 to 2007


This was originally a "plantation plan" dwelling built around 1840 by William Wisenbacker, an early Lowndes County settler. J.T. Roberts purchased the house at the turn of the century and updated it with the Victorian gingerbread, wings, and tower. This house is considered to be Valdosta's oldest house since the original portion was constructed circa 1840.

Recently, the Roberts House--often called the "Crown Jewel" of Valdosta--has been undergoing an extensive restoration sponsored by the Valdosta Heritage Foundation.
Starting in spring of 2008, the Roberts House will be available for receptions and weddings and graduations and ....
